  1. Sugar gliders are marsupials, which means their babies grow in a pouch like kangaroos.
  2. They glide using a stretchy membrane called a patagium between their front and back legs.
  3. They can glide around 45 metres from tree to tree.
  4. They are nocturnal, so they are most active at night.
  5. Their name comes from their liking for sweet foods such as sap and nectar.
